Specter on Sestak

Post a Comment I have yet to write anything on my awesome time at the 2009 College Democrats of America Convention. Our plane arrived late on Sunday night, I slept most of the day on Monday, and spent Tuesday in Augusta. I'll certainly post some reflections this week.
For now, here's some video of Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) responding to criticisms from potential primary challenger Rep. Joe Sestak.
Gil Santos

Post a Comment I just wanted to share this video by Carl Stevens, in case you missed it earlier this week. As many of you know, I'm a big fan of WBZ in Boston, and this week, long time morning sports anchor Gil Santos (known to many as the voice of the New England Patriots) was inducted into the WBZ Hall of Fame.
I grew up listening to Gil, and it's nice to see such an honor bestowed on a guy who really deserves it.
Thank you

Post a Comment Dear College Democrats,
On behalf of our entire slate, thank you. This week, you cast your votes for an extraordinary team, representing colleges and universities from across the state, that will bring much needed change to the Maine College Democrats organization.
I want to extend a sincere thank you to President Van Alstyne and the rest of the outgoing Executive Board officers for their leadership during such a tremendous election year, and for their continued guidance during this transition.
In accordance with Article III, Section 4, and Article IV, Section 10 of the Bylaws of the Maine College Democrats, I have nominated Peter Christopher of the University of Maine to serve as Treasurer of the Maine College Democrats. I have full confidence that the newly elected members of the Executive Board will approve Peter, and that he will serve our organization well.
I promise to work with the Executive Board to fill any open seats on our Executive Board in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with the rules set forth in our bylaws.
In the weeks ahead, I'll be working with our new officers to lay out a timeline for chapter expansion and financial growth, and a strategy for better collaboration with the Maine Democratic Party.
In a few weeks, Vice Presidents Cosgrove and O'Heir, Treasurer-designate Peter Christopher, and I will attend the College Democrats of America convention in Washington, DC. We look forward to meeting with other College Democrats from around the country to learn and implement strategies to make our organization stronger.
I thank you for the tremendous confidence you have placed in our team to help make our organization strong for our crucial 2010 races and beyond. We all look forward to working with each of you in the months to come.
Sincerely,
Benjamin D. Goodman
President, Maine College Democrats
University of Maine '12
